My Blog seems Boring""""

I was most probably the first one to form a Blog when sir Manaan asked us to form one. From the begining till date what i have understood is, it is very easy to make a blog, but mantaining it is the difficult task.

Keeping in view this case I had to make a strategy and some short term plans which will be followed by implementation and control. What i have decided is that i will include my extra curricular activities in this blog. This will help me to be commited to what i am doing and what i plan to do, it will provide me a sense of direction and hopefully, a source of information about me to my collegues. It will also provide a room for feedback which is very effective source for improvment.

Parallel situations BUT Perpendicular Approachs

Mr. Mannan was very kind to allow me in his B section of Mkt class and there i got chance to sit in Mr Riz's presentation and listen to Obama's speech. My comment is on Obama's speech. Through his speech we could hear the voice of the American people, we could see the culture of a multiculturistic nation, and we could feel the pluralistic approach (showing respect for differences) of the diverse group of citizens.

Now lets look at the beauty of our nation, a rich and highly multiculturistic nation, with diverse group of citizens and more than any thing else briliant minds. But, why do we lag behind in almost every sphere of life? Where do we go wrong? Why is it that we are not united and proactive as a nation starting from each individual?

In my opinion, we need to be principle oriented, we need to respect diversity, we desperatly need a leader who represents the common Pakistani and most importantly develop an approach which can guide all of us towards one well defined goal; and the leader who should do this must have the ability to market that goal to the various segments of our society.

The Day I Realised..........

My problem used to be thinking of myself as a bad communicator and doing nothing about it. Then a day came when i didn't just realise I had been a very bad communicator, but also that communication is a process based on skills like, Listening, Understanding, Speaking etc. etc.
And most importantly, being good at these skills means being a good communicator.
Other than this I was told that listening is the most important and basic skill.

At this stage I found the importance of defining and adressing the issues on hand rather than showing just concerns. Because, by doing so I managed to trace the disease of my illness whos symptom was Bad Communication, and the disease was Poor Listening Skill.

Habit # 1, M I REALLY A PROACTIVE person

Earlier I mentioned that beginning with the end in mind gave me a different view of life but, when I carefully observed my behavior I found some underlying thing has been disrupting my 2nd habit. I thought for long but ended nowhere. Slowly I started understanding the reason for the fluctuation in my habit. It was when I heard comments like ‘you are lazy....’, ‘why don’t you do things on your own…’ and ‘use your brain’ etc. I realized that I was responsible for the disruptions and it was all because, sometimes, I didn’t initiate even the trivial works on my own. I showed non proactive attitude. I am trying to be proactive in every matter but its very hard and I hope I can make it.

HABIT 2, (BEGINING WITH THE END IN MIND) Did it Work???????

The book 7 Habits of highly effective people was firstly refered to me by my friend. While i was reading it for the first time, it made me concious of the very small things that really matter for our end result.
Now, as i did a presentation on it agian, it made me practically impement the 2nd habit i.e. Begining with the end in mind. for e.g. for the first time i only thought of my result in the end of my semester but, doing a presentation on it in the class once agian expanded my thinking horizon and i started taking steps keeping in view how they are going to help me in my practical life. In short, i started imagining my desired way of life and now i take steps in accordance to what i have to actualise.

Calculus

Mathamatics has been a subject that i have always loved, but at some points in my life it has made me feel that the subject itself hasn't any feelings for me.. despite hard work and practice i have always felt uncomfortable with its result. for e.g. till matric i was quite happy with my output in maths, but my intermediate mathamatics didn't do good to me, and I even became demoralised by the result i got in maths. Sometimes i think the other way round, may be i havn't got the natural talent or ,say, my IQ is not sharp. But whatever the case i have always been surpprised by my affiliation with this subject because, even in my bachelor courses i have inluded courses of Maths like i took MATH100 prviously and MATH102 (Calculus 1) for my current semester. Although, it seems tough job to do ,yet i am confident that i ll manage this one too. While i ll be very much busy practicing maths this semester i just hope that this subject also give me the attention i desperatly need.......

Live Drama

A very vivid picture of "ACTORS" passed my eyes and very cleverly worked out drama was performed in front of me in E-Block. I kept watching for 10 minutes and the episode was over by that time. It was capturing of a freshman. I could see both sides of the play, one which they (THE ACTORS) presented and second, their real motive. Although the team of ACTORS seemed successful in the end, but lets see what happens to the whole serial............... afterall this was just one episode.

Geting started with Marketing Course

The marketing course of my fall-08 semseter seems to be very intresting yet it can give me very tough time. According to our instructor Mr. Manaan Amin, we need to get fully prepared for our practical life awaiting us in the near future. Untill now he has been stressing on getting ourselves align with the needs and criteria of the current time. for e.g. he made us create blogs and visit sites that may turn out to be usefull for us. He also recomended the book, 7 Habbits of Highily Effective People and to make sure we implement it idulged us in various class activities. This is a begining and I hope we can make maximum use of our learnings. (This time i have started with the end in mind)
